High Desert Emergency Action Alliance (FSC)

The purpose of HDEAA is to bring together public and private organizations to discuss safety in our communities in real-time.  This community-based safety concept was derived out of the statewide Fire Safe Council whose goal is to preserve California’s natural and manmade resources by mobilizing all Californians to make their homes, neighborhoods, and communities fire safe.  There are approximately 150 local councils throughout the state albeit all but missing from the greater High Desert area – we’re here to change that!  We have already aligned with our neighboring ‘Mountain Rim Fire Safe Council’ to leverage a CalFire grant that will enable HDEAA to travel through the HD: Morongo Basin to Lake Havasu, Needles to Barstow (and beyond) to educate communities on creating their own Fire Safe Councils, Firewise Communities or becoming active members of HDEAA.

Our Fire Safe Council will be used as a forum to share information, solve problems, and link related programs in ways that can save money and time.  The public safety issues we discuss will even extend beyond fire safety, to earthquake preparedness, emergency medical response, etc.

As we strategize with government and private partners we will soon outline the HDEAA mission and invite the public to participate.
