About

Desert Region
Fire Safe Council (FSC)

The ‘Desert Region Fire Safe Council’ FSC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization funded by grants and community support. HDEAA is the parent organization of High Desert Fire Safe Councils bringing together community, local, state, and federal fire/safety agencies throughout the High Desert Communities of San Bernardino County.

Our mission is to protect the people of the High Desert and their property from the effects of catastrophic fires through education, cooperation, innovation, and action. The organization's staff helps implement projects, connect with community members, and leverage partnerships.

What is an FSC?

Community Fire Safe Councils have been referred to as the “neighborhood watch” in supporting San Bernardino County’s fire safety efforts. As grassroots, community-led organizations, we mobilize residents to protect their homes, neighborhoods, and environments from fire. We know our community's unique challenges and implement such projects as hazardous fuel reduction programs, local fire protection planning, and homeowner training to ensure its protection.

By working together across the County, we can utilize our combined experience, expertise, and common objectives to ensure our homes, businesses and communities are well-protected from the threats of fire.
