About the Fire Prevention Office & Disaster Community Center

Station 2 isn’t just a building — it’s a mission. This former fire station has been transformed into a dynamic hub for wildfire prevention, emergency preparedness, and community collaboration. Operated by Desert Region Fire Safe, in collaboration with the Morongo Valley Fire Department, the center is a dedicated space where residents, agencies, and organizations can come together to learn, plan, and act before disaster strikes.

Here, we work hand-in-hand with local fire departments, emergency services, and community volunteers to deliver critical resources, hands-on training, and direct support to residents across the Morongo Basin and the greater Inland Empire desert region. The center is more than a facility — it’s a catalyst for building safer neighborhoods and a stronger, more resilient future.

Why It Matters

The desert is beautiful — and vulnerable. As wildfire seasons grow longer and more intense, proactive prevention and preparedness are critical to protecting our homes, families, and way of life.

The MVFD Station 2 Fire Prevention Office & Disaster Community Center is built for that purpose: to close the gap between awareness and action, and to give our region the tools it needs to weather the unexpected.
