Basic Life Support CPR for Healthcare Providers
HDEAA’s American Red Cross BLS for the Healthcare Provider course teaches those seeking professional-level training in the skills of CPR for victims of all ages. This course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, and use an AED in a timely and effective manner. These skills include ventilation with a barrier device & a bag-mask device, use of an AED on adults/pediatrics, and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction in responsive and nonresponsive victims. Written and skills evaluations are required for course completion.
BLS COURSE (INITIAL)

Recommended for: MDs, Nurses, EMTs, Dentists, Pharmacists, First Responders, Medical & Healthcare Professionals
The BLS Class covers:
Adult, Child, and Infant CPR
Conscious and Unconscious Choking for victims of all ages
Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use and special considerations
Breathing Barriers, Bag Valve Masks, and 2 Rescuer CPR
Cardiopulmonary Emergencies and Special Resuscitation Situations Recommended for: MDs, RNs, EMTs, Dentists, Pharmacists, and Medical Personnel
Requirements
Students must successfully complete the ARC BLS Course online and then the hands-on skills session in person at HDEAA. Students cannot start the skills session if they have not completed/passed the online course. Those completing both with success will receive a BLS Provider course completion card (eCard), valid for two years.
